Joggers catalogue: building a cuffed, drawcord jogger from a shared trouser reference
The joggers archive draws on the same trouser reference cards shown under pants, so treat every card as a starting body rather than a finished jogger. Choose the closest card, then specify the changes that make it a jogger: a ribbed or elasticated cuff, a drawcord waistband, a tapered or relaxed leg, and a knit fabric where the set needs one. Programmes run from 100 pieces per style per colour with sizes mixed inside one colourway, bonded seam styles from 200, samples in 3–7 days and bulk production in 15–25 days, excluding transport.
Why this archive shows the same reference cards as pants
There is no separate stock of finished joggers behind this page. The cards here are the same trouser references shown in the pants archive: stretch golf trousers, woven performance trousers for training, running, cycling, hiking and tailored use, and knitted training pants including ESSENTIAL Series, ProTrain and Comfort. They are reference bodies. The jogger version is defined by the changes you list, not by the card itself.
The size of the change depends on the start. From a knitted training pant, the jogger version is mostly a change to the cuff, the waistband and the leg taper. From a woven performance trouser, the waistband has to be reworked for elastic or a drawcord, the hem has to take a cuff, and the leg has to be re-cut to the taper you want. From a stretch golf trouser, the stretch fabric can be kept while the opening and the waist change.
Write the start and the changes as two separate lines in the enquiry. The first line names the card. The second names the cuff, waistband, leg shape, fabric and colour. That gives the pattern room one reference and one change list to work from.
Cuff, waistband and leg shape: the three changes that define a jogger
The cuff is the clearest signal. State whether you want a ribbed cuff, an encased elastic hem or a turned-back elasticated opening, and give the cuff height and the finished opening circumference for each size. Rib and elastic can be matched to the body fabric or contrasted, so state the colour reference as well.
The waistband is the second change. State whether the waist uses encased elastic, exposed elastic or a drawcord, whether the cord sits inside or outside, and the cord length, tip and eyelet finish. A woven start needs the waistband reworked for these parts, so name them in the first brief.
The leg shape is the third change. Give the silhouette, whether tapered, slim, relaxed or straight, together with the inseam, the front and back rise, the knee width and the leg opening. These measurements are graded into the size set and checked on the sealed pre-production sample.
| Jogger change | Where it sits in the block | Suits a knit or woven start | Counted as a separate style |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ribbed or elasticated cuff | Leg opening, with cuff height and opening circumference | Both; a knit start is the shorter route | No |
| Drawcord waist with encased elastic | Waistband, with cord length, tip and eyelet finish | Both; a woven start needs waistband rework | No |
| Tapered or slim leg | Pattern grading from knee to hem, with inseam and rise | Both | Yes, when a straight leg in the same fabric also runs |
| Knit body matched to a hoodie | Body fabric and shared colour reference | Knit | Yes, if a woven version also runs |
| Coordinated set colourway | Colour reference shared across the garments in the set | Both | Yes, each garment counts separately |
| Bonded seam or bonded pocket joins | Seam construction instead of stitched seams | Both | Yes, bonding minimum 200 per style per colour |
| Flatlock seams or heat transfer logo | Seam finish and decoration placement | Both | No |
Pick the fabric route with the matching set in mind
Fabric choice decides whether the jogger can be matched to a top. A knit route lets the trouser share one fabric and one colour reference with a hoodie or sweatshirt, which is what a coordinated set needs. State which route the programme needs before sampling.
Fabric can be bought from a supplier you nominate or sourced by the factory, and either way the fabric name, composition, weight and colour reference go into the approved order file. These references are approved before the first physical sample. In-house processes for these styles include flatlock, heat transfer, garment wash, laser cutting on synthetic fabric and bonding.
Where the jogger is part of a set, name every garment in the set and the colour reference shared across them in the first message.
Develop the jogger together with a hoodie or jacket
A jogger rarely ships alone, so develop it against the top it will sell with. Send the trouser reference from this archive alongside a hoodie, sweatshirt or jacket reference, and state the shared colour reference and any artwork that appears on both pieces. The two garments can then be sampled on one fabric and one colour plan.
Shared artwork should be placed once: give the artwork version, the placement, the finished size and the method for each garment, so the decoration is approved in the same review. Heat transfer and flatlock are available in-house.
Set the size logic across the pieces at the same time. State whether the trouser and the top share one size run or carry separate runs, and give the size range for each so grading stays aligned across the set.
What to send with a jogger enquiry
A complete enquiry has six parts: the reference link or tech pack, the quantity per colour, the size range, the fabric route, the cuff and waistband and leg specification, and the decoration and private label package. Add the target dates and the trade term you want quoted. Without a tech pack, the reference card plus a written change list is enough to start.
Numbers matter early. State the quantity per style per colour, because the minimum is counted per style and per colour, and state the number of colourways. State whether any style uses bonding, because bonded seam styles start at 200 pieces per style per colour instead of 100.
Also state the trim package. Woven labels and hangtags start at 1,000 pieces, jacquard labels and silicone badges start at 300, and these minimums run alongside the garment minimum without adding to it. Where labelling needs printed RN or CA numbers, include the numbers and their placement.
Quality checks, sampling charges and order terms for a jogger run
Each jogger style carries an approved order file and a sealed pre-production sample. Incoming materials are checked against the file, and incoming fabric is weighed on a round-knife weight scale with the reading recorded. Cutting, in-line construction, finishing, measurements and packing are checked through the run, and finished cartons are sampled to AQL 2.5 under the documented ISO 9001 system. The packing line runs needle detection.
Samples are charged and take 3–7 days. The charge is credited against the first order when a single style reaches 300 pieces. Bulk production takes 15–25 days after sample approval and deposit, excluding transport. Trade terms are EXW, FOB Shenzhen Yantian or DDP. Payment is T/T with a deposit and balance before shipment, or L/C at sight for full container loads.
Send the closest reference from this archive with your cuff, waistband, leg shape, fabric, colour reference, size range, quantity per colour and decoration plan. If the jogger is part of a set, add the top reference and the shared colour reference in the same message. We will confirm the fabric route, the number of styles, and the sample and bulk schedule against that specification.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the joggers archive show the same products as the pants archive?
Both archives currently draw on the same trouser reference set, so there is no separate stock of finished joggers behind this page. Use the cards as starting bodies: pick the closest leg shape and waist, then list the jogger changes you want. The jogger version is defined by that change list, covering the cuff, the drawcord waist, the leg taper, the fabric and the colour.
Can a woven trouser reference be developed into a jogger?
Yes. A woven performance trouser can be reworked into a jogger block by specifying an elasticated or ribbed cuff, a drawcord or encased elastic waistband, and a tapered leg with the inseam, rise, knee width and leg opening you need. The waistband has to be reworked for a woven start, so name those parts in the first brief. The fabric, colour reference and trim package are fixed at the same time.
What is the minimum order for joggers sold as part of a matching set?
Each garment is counted as its own style, so a jogger and a matching hoodie each carry 100 pieces per style per colour, with sizes mixed inside one colourway. A two colourway set therefore carries 100 pieces per garment in each colourway. Bonded seam styles start at 200 pieces per style per colour instead of 100. Woven labels and hangtags start at 1,000 pieces.
Which fabric should I use for a jogger that matches a hoodie?
Use the knit route, because it lets the trouser share one fabric and one colour reference with a hoodie or sweatshirt. A woven route gives a firmer training or leisure pant instead. Fabric can be bought from a supplier you nominate or sourced by the factory, and the fabric name, composition, weight and colour reference go into the approved order file.
Which in-house processes are available for jogger seams and decoration?
Available in-house processes include flatlock for seam construction, heat transfer for logos and placement artwork, garment wash, laser cutting on synthetic fabric, and bonding for joined seams instead of stitched seams. Laser cutting seals the edge as it cuts and is used mainly on synthetic fabric. Bonding carries a minimum of 200 pieces per style per colour, and the process, artwork version, placement and finished size belong in the brief.
How long does a jogger sample take and is sampling charged?
Samples take 3–7 days once the design, fabric and artwork are confirmed, and they are charged. The charge is credited against the first order when a single style reaches 300 pieces. Bulk production takes 15–25 days after sample approval and deposit, excluding transport. Terms are EXW, FOB Shenzhen Yantian or DDP, with T/T or L/C at sight for full container loads.
