Custom Clothing Manufacturing for USA Brands

A US label that comes to us normally arrives with three things already settled: a fit taken from a chart that sells at home, a colourway, and a launch date already announced to customers. What is still open is who makes the garment, whether the fit survives the crossing, and whether anybody picks up the question when it is asked at nine in the morning in California.

This page is arranged around those three: the grading a US range needs, the hours our floor keeps against your day, the Yantian routings to each coast, where DDP changes the arithmetic, and the small runs most online sellers begin with. Every figure quoted — 100 pieces, 200 for bonded, 3–7 days — is one we will repeat in writing.

Starting from the Size Chart You Already Sell

US grading is what we assume when a brief names no size system at all. Send the chart your range sells on now — chest, body length, sleeve, and the step between sizes — and the block is built to those points, graded through your set, and the first sample measured against the same ones. Where no chart exists, we grade from a reference garment you post to us. The approved pre-production sample then becomes the fit of record, and bulk is checked back to it.

Plus, petite, tall and kids sets are graded like any other; the grade rule moves, the sequence does not. Settle the size set before sampling starts. The floor is 100 pieces per style per colour, and sizes can be mixed freely inside that hundred, while a second colourway is a second minimum. The counting rule is written out on our minimum order quantity page.

A Working Day That Overlaps Just Enough

Our floor is staffed 08:30–20:00 GMT+8 from Monday to Friday, and 10:00–18:00 at weekends. For a buyer in New York that window lands on their evening and runs into the following morning; in Los Angeles it begins in the afternoon and closes before dawn. Nobody should plan a live call inside it.

What replaces the call is a written handover. A sample comment left at the end of a US day is read here before that shift ends, and the answer is on its way back before the same office reopens. Saturday is a working day here, so a Friday question does not cost a weekend.

Yantian to Either Coast, and Where DDP Fits

Cargo leaves through Shenzhen Yantian. A West Coast discharge is the more direct routing; East Coast and inland destinations are served all-water or overland after discharge, and which suits depends on volume and date. The routing your forwarder nominates is the one we book, and its documents are prepared here before the container is sealed.

Buyers choose between EXW, FOB Shenzhen Yantian and DDP, and on a first US order DDP is usually simpler: one invoice, one carrier relationship, and a landed cost that goes into a margin sheet instead of assembled from several charges. Settlement runs in two stages: a T/T deposit when the order is confirmed, then the balance before loading; a sight L/C only where a whole container ships.

Care Labels, Carton Marks and Retail Packing

Label copy is printed from the file you send. Wording, fibre percentages, the origin line and the care symbols are yours; we set them onto the labels unchanged. What we need is a tech pack in PDF or Excel, plus artwork that is vector AI or EPS, or a PDF at print resolution. A screenshot gets redrawn and re-approved, adding a step nobody needs.

Carton marks, polybag rules, folding method and the way a size run is packed per carton are agreed together. Retailers differ on all four, and none can be inferred from a tech pack, so they are written down before packing, not corrected after.

Small First Runs for New Labels and Online Sellers

A first order here is usually one style in one colour at 100 pieces. Bonded and seam-sealed garments start at 200, since the adhesive film and the face fabric are validated together before the run. Sampling is 3–7 days and includes a wash test; if a launch date hangs on it, the sample timeline sets out each step in order. Only the bulk window is fixed at 15–25 days, and its start date is approval of the pre-production sample, not the enquiry. Final inspection is 100% inspection against the graded spec, accepted to AQL 2.5, before the cartons close.

The sampling charge is quoted per style, confirmed in writing before sampling begins, and credited against your first order at 300 pieces per style. The floor itself is 18,000 m² in Dongguan, ISO 9001 certified, in production since 2009, with 180+ staff and monthly output of 150,000–200,000 pieces. Lines we build include polo, hoodie, T-shirt, yoga and gym, golf, seamless and maternity knitwear. Knitwear is the whole of it: anything in leather, footwear or accessories is out of scope here.

Questions US Buyers Ask Us

Can you grade a chart that mixes regular, plus and tall sizes?

Yes. Each size set is graded on its own rule and the sets are marked and packed as one run. Send all three charts at enquiry stage so the pattern work is quoted once, in one line, rather than added to the price later. The 100-piece minimum applies to the style and the colour, not to each size set separately.

When in my day will I hear back from your floor?

Messages left at the close of a US working day are read here the same evening or early the next morning, and answered before that office reopens. Saturday and Sunday are staffed on shorter hours, 10:00–18:00 GMT+8, so a weekend question does not sit until Monday. Sample approvals and colour comments are the two things most often waiting.

Do you deliver DDP to a US address?

Yes. We quote EXW, FOB Shenzhen Yantian and DDP; DDP is priced against a delivery address you give us rather than a port. It is the term most first orders use, since it leaves one invoice and one transit to manage instead of a port leg the buyer has to arrange on their own side.

Is 100 pieces per style, or per order?

Per style and per colour. One style in one colour is 100 pieces; one style in two colours is 200; two styles in one colour is also 200. Sizes inside a minimum can be mixed without changing the count. Bonded and seam-sealed builds are counted at 200 per style and colour rather than 100.

Next Step

Send the chart, the colour count and the style you have in mind, and the reply will carry a quoted sampling date, an itemised price and a confirmation of whether the run sits at 100 pieces or at 200. Start on our contact page, read how the 100-piece order is assembled step by step, or compare the Canadian and Mexican pages if your stock ships to more than one market.
