Will You Ever Change My Payment Account?
Payment instructions for an order are issued in writing under the company name Dongguan Yingchun Garment, and they are not changed as a matter of routine. If a message ever asks you to pay a different account, treat it as unverified until you have confirmed it by phone on a number you already hold, rather than a number that arrived with the message.
Why do payment details get targeted in apparel sourcing?
A garment order runs over weeks, moves five or six figures, and passes through several people on both sides: a merchandiser, a finance contact, a shipping agent. Most of that conversation happens by email across time zones. That combination is what payment fraud looks for — a long thread, a known sender, and a moment near a deposit or a balance payment when a reply will be read quickly and acted on.
Nothing about this is specific to one country or one factory. The pattern is common enough across manufacturing that buyers now ask about it before placing a first order, and the answer is worth having in writing rather than assumed.
What do our payment instructions look like?
Payment terms for an order are stated on the proforma invoice, together with the order number, the styles and quantities, the unit prices and the total. The account named there is the account the invoice is issued against. The terms behind it are the ones quoted for your order: a T/T deposit with the balance before shipment, or a letter of credit at sight for a full container.
Two details are worth checking on the document itself, because they are the ones a forged invoice gets wrong. Compare the account holder name against the seller name on the invoice: if the two do not line up, stop and confirm before paying. Then check that the reference on the invoice matches an order number you already hold in your own files, not only a reference that appears nowhere else.
How can a fake payment request reach me?
Three shapes cover most of what buyers report. A lookalike domain that differs by one character from the real one, registered shortly before the message is sent. A genuine invoice PDF that has been opened and re-saved with the account field changed, so the layout and the signature block still look correct. An email from a free mailbox claiming to be a colleague who has moved to a new address, usually with urgency attached — a production slot about to be released, a shipment held at the port.
Urgency is the tell that matters most. A request to pay today, or to route a balance through a different intermediary bank, or to switch the currency at the last minute, is the moment to slow down rather than speed up.
How do I verify a payment request in five minutes?
| Check | What correct looks like |
|---|---|
| Account holder | Lines up with the seller name on the invoice you were sent |
| Phone confirmation | Dial the number from your contract or from this website, never the number in the email |
| Invoice reference | Carries the order number already in your files |
| Sender domain | Character by character identical to the address you have been writing to |
| Any change to bank details | Arrives as a revised document and is confirmed by voice before anything is sent |
Five minutes on those five lines is cheaper than any recovery process. The confirmation call is the one step worth never skipping, because a forged document can reproduce everything except a voice on a number you already had.
What should I do if I have already paid a wrong account?
Call your bank first, before anything else — a transfer that has not yet cleared can sometimes be recalled, and speed is the only variable you control at that point. Keep the message, the invoice file and the transfer receipt together, because the bank and the police will both ask for them.
Then tell us on the number published on our contact page, so the order itself is not held up while the payment is traced. We can confirm what we have received against the invoice, which is usually the fastest way to establish where the money actually went.
Questions buyers ask next
Do you ever change your bank details by email?
Treat any email that changes bank details on its own as unverified. A change that is genuine reaches you as a revised document for the order, and it is confirmed by voice on a number you already hold before you send anything. If those two things are not both present, the request is not confirmed.
Which account do I pay the deposit to?
The account named on the proforma invoice issued for your order. It carries the order number, the styles and quantities, the unit prices and the payment terms, and it is the document to check the account holder name against. Pay against that document, not against an address or an account number sent separately.
Can I pay by letter of credit instead?
Yes, for a full container. A letter of credit at sight is available on full-container orders, alongside the standard T/T deposit and balance before shipment. Which one suits an order depends on the volume and on the requirements of your own bank, and it is settled when the order is quoted.
How do I check the account holder name?
The name on the account is checked against the seller name on your invoice, and that comparison is the point of the exercise rather than a formality. If the two do not line up on the document you have been sent, confirm by phone on a number you already hold before any money moves, whatever else the document looks like.
Who do I call to confirm payment details?
The number on our contact page, +86 158 7649 3800, which is also the WhatsApp line, or the number on your own contract if you have one. Call it rather than replying to the message in question, so that a forged reply cannot answer the check you are making.
Do you accept payment from a third party?
Payment is made against the invoice issued for the order. If it has to come from a company other than the one named on that invoice, say so before it is sent rather than after, so the receipt can be matched to the right order without a round of tracing on both sides.
SLSPOLO is the export brand of Dongguan Yingchun Garment, a knitwear and sportswear manufacturer in Humen Town, Dongguan, operating since 2009 with more than 18,000 square metres across two plants and over 180 staff. The minimum is 100 pieces per style per colour, or 200 for bonded builds. For anything on this page, the contact page lists the direct lines, how a quote is built sets out what to send for a first price, and what can be verified about the factory covers the documents behind a first order. If the question you have is about quantity rather than payment, how the minimum is counted is the page to start on.
